Thank you for writing about this and introducing us to the concept of the sigma male.
I very much relate to the sigma you describe here. But I’ve always seen myself as having my masculine and my feminine energies in balance. I’m not aggressive and don’t care for competition, but I’m not fully feminine either. Just somewhere in the middle.
Greetings Tara! The Sigma male is indeed a leader unto himself. Quiet, reserved, watching, and waiting, . . . for the opportunity to lead by example, or to move that couch. He doesn't hesitate when duty calls. Your bullet list is spot on. I beat down bullies much bigger than myself. I'm quick and a leftie. They weren't expecting that.
I was born a Sigma long before there was a label for it. Those who saw the alpha never saw the compassion; those who saw the beta never saw the strength.
Within the pastoral scene, I believe the role of a Sigma is best defined as the shepherd (a symbol of compassion and strength).
Thank you for the article. Nice to know we Sigmas are appreciated.
Sigma are a breed apart, lifting up, caring for, bringing healing, wanting others to succeed, most of all secure in themselves. Finding validation in the simplest of ways, a leaf, a snowflake or a smile

Hi Tara
I was born a Sigma long before there was a label for it. Those who saw the alpha never saw the compassion; those who saw the beta never saw the strength.

My best to you,

Thanks Michael..I like that interpretation of it as the shepherd.😊
